19-year-old Manya Singh has shaken the internet world after being crowned Miss India 2020 runner-up last week. Her inspirational journey to the crown has made her a sensation in the country. Manya has once again shown that one can overcome all the hurdles in life and achieve his or her dream with hard work and strong determination.

Manya hails from Uttar Pradesh and is the daughter of an auto-rickshaw driver. She was raised by her parents in Hata – a small town in Uttar Pradesh. Just like most of the lower middle-class families in the country, Manya’s family was struggling to make ends meet. Her family also struggled to afford fees for her education.

She had earlier revealed how she could not attend school and had to start working at an early age.  Before the pageant finale, Manya had narrated her life story to Miss India where she revealed how she spent many nights without food. For her college fee, her mother had to mortgage her jewelry. Not only that, Manya also worked in a pizza shop to make ends meet.

Unsurprisingly, her rags-to-riches story is inspiring millions and one of them is none other than India cricket star Shikhar Dhawan. The southpaw, who himself had to work hard in domestic cricket for nearly a decade before making it big in international cricket, took to Twitter to hail Manya. Dhawan opined that Manya’s achievement is a proof that dreams do come true.

“Manya Singh.. what an inspirational story! You’re proof that dreams do come true. Believe in your goals and you will rise above the odds to achieve them,” wrote Shikhar Dhawan.

Here is Shikhar Dhawan’s tweet:

Shikhar Dhawan to return to action soon:

Shikhar Dhawan will be seen in India colours soon when the Men in Blue lock horns against England in the limited-overs series after the conclusion of the ongoing Test series. India and England are scheduled to play five T20Is and three ODIs. Dhawan was last seen in action for India in December during the tour of Australia where he was part of the ODI and T20I teams.
