India’s middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav has been in form of his life. After scoring tons of runs in the domestic circuit for the Mumbai team and impressing one and all in the Indian Premier League (IPL) too, Yadav finally got the much deserved India call-up in the T20I series against England. He impressed everyone with a classy half-century on debut.

The 30-year old batter is also one of the active cricketers on social media and keeps having banter with his teammates. Recently, he trolled Shreyas Iyer who posted a video of him working out by calling it the ‘Shahenshah’ technique.

This time Yadav took on the India’s leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal who apparently kept asking the Mumbai Indians player for his bat. In a chat on Mumbai Indians (MI) TV, the elegant right-handed batter was seen saying to Chahal that his bat is heavy and he may not be able to use it.

“He has been asking for a bat from me but my bat is slightly heavy, I have told him so many times – ‘You’re so thin, how will you use this heavy bat.’ But yes, I will have to tell him that the next time we meet, I will certainly present him with my bat,” Surya said.

Suryakumar Yadav keen on continuing his rich vein of form against Sri Lanka

Yadav who was last seen in IPL will most probably be included in India’s tour to Sri Lanka in the month of July. The 30-year-old will look to make most of the opportunity by carrying his good form ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup which is slated to take place in India in October.

Yadav also revealed that he keeps practicing bowling at nets whenever he gets a chance. He is also a medium pacer and also tried off-spin in the past.

“Why is he always behind my bowling? No, I have not stopped bowling, I keep bowling in the nets. Whenever I get an opportunity to bowl in the game I will be there. Parthiv bhai don’t worry you will see me bowling soon!” Suryakumar said.

In first-class cricket, Yadav has tasted a little bit of success in bowling as he has 24 wickets in 77 matches. He can also be used as the fifth bowler by India during the Sri Lanka series.
