South African left-handed batsman JP Duminy has lauded India’s decision to recall Yuvraj Singh to the squad. Duminy and Yuvraj were teammates during the 2015 edition of the IPL as they both played for the Delhi Daredevils, a team that was captained by JP Duminy. Having been together, Duminy is well aware of what the 34-year old southpaw is capable of.

“He has been a big match player for India. From an Indian perspective, I know the blokes are excited to have him back. He is a match-winner in the T20 format,” said Duminy, who took a hat-trick against Sri Lanka in ICC World Cup 2015.”

Duminy also sounded cautious stating that he’d hope that Yuvraj wouldn’t decimate them if they came up against the Indians in the duration of the tournament.

“He is someone to watch out for in this tournament. Let’s hope he doesn’t cause much damage if we come up against India,” he added.

JP Duminy however, wasted no time in stating his wish to feature in the Indian Premier League once more. He also stated that his wife enjoys the country, making it easier for him to continue with his job.

“When you leave your family behind, it is a challenge. But now, the advantage is they are coming to visit us here. Everyone loves touring India. The country has a great culture to experience, great bunch of people who are willing to do a lot for you,” said Duminy who helped the Proteas win the T20 series against India 2-0 last year.

“My wife enjoys India the most. She is looking forward to the IPL,” he chuckled.
