Pakistan completed a series win against Zimbabwe with a huge win in the 3rd ODI and will now be playing the remaining two matches of the 5-match ODI series for formality. The fate of the hosts didn’t change despite making four alterations and in fact got worse as Faheem Ashraf’s 5-wicket haul bundled them out for just 67 runs. Zimbabwe claimed Imam-ul-Haq’s wicket on the first ball of the innings but Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam got their team home with 40.1 overs to spare.

All the major stats and numbers from Pakistan’s record victory over Zimbabwe:

4 – Pakistan’s innings is only the 4th instance where only two bowlers bowled out in an ODI that produced a result. Zimbabwe’s opening bowlers bowled 9.2 overs defending 35 in 2004 Harare ODI and 4.2 overs in the 2001 Colombo ODI while defending 38 against Sri Lanka.

Canada opening pair bowled 4.4 overs defending 36 also against Sri Lanka in the 2003 World Cup. Sri Lanka won by nine wickets in all those three matches.


4.4 – Faheem Ashraf took 5/22 in this game at an average of 4.4 which is the cheapest ODI 5-wicket haul by a Pakistan pacer in nearly 15 years. This is the cheapest ODI 5-fer for a Pakistan pacer since Mohammad Sami’s 5/10 against New Zealand in the 2003 Lahore ODI.


5/22 – Faheem Ashraf’s bowling figures of 5/22 are the 2nd best for a Pakistan right-arm pacer since the start of 2006. Umar Gul bagged 6/42 in his 10 overs of the 2010 ODI against England at The Oval.


16 – Chamu Chibhabha’s 16 is the highest individual score for Zimbabwe in this game. This is the lowest highest individual score in an ODI inning for any team against Pakistan. New Zealand had the highest score of 17 when they were bowled out for 64 in 1986 Sharjah ODI against the Pakistan team.


50 – This was Pakistan’s 50th win against Zimbabwe in the ODI format making them the 2nd team to win as many as 50 ODIs against Zimbabwe. Team India has defeated Zimbabwe in 51 ODI matches thus far.


67 – Zimbabwe’s total of 67 in this game is the first ODI team total less than 100 at the Queen Sports Club in Bulawayo. The previous lowest total at this venue was 107 recorded by the hosts in the first ODI of this series.


67 – The 67/10 by Zimbabwe in this match is the 2nd lowest total in ODI cricket for any side against Pakistan behind New Zealand’s 64/10 way back in the 1986 Sharjah ODI.


241 – Pakistan’s win with 241 balls to spare is the 10th biggest win for any team in this format in terms of balls to spare. This is also their biggest win surpassing the 206-ball win over New Zealand in the 1990 Sharjah ODI where they chased down 75 in only 15.4 overs with 8 wickets in hand.
