The second T20I between India and West Indies was delayed not just once, but twice in a day as the players’ luggage did not arrive on time. The game, that was originally scheduled for 8 PM IST was rescheduled to 10 PM IST as Cricket West Indies released an official statement quoting the above-mentioned reason. A few minutes before the start of the play, the match was postponed, again, by another one hour, to 11 PM IST.
West Indies hosted India at the Brian Lara Stadium Tarouba in Trinidad for the first T20I of the five-match series, which was also the first-ever international match played at the venue. The two teams then moved to St. Kitts for their next two fixtures at Warner Park. Even with a two-day gap between the first and second games, the teams faced issues as their kits didn’t arrive on time.
The fans took to Twitter and trolled the management for not being able to organize the game properly and not keeping up with the basic requirements. There were users who criticized the cricket board and urged the BCCI to never agree to a game in the West Indies. The frustration level is understandable, as the match will go well beyond midnight as per the Indian timing.
Clouds over India’s final two games against West Indies
Notably, the two teams are scheduled to play their third T20I on August 2, at 8 PM IST. The players of both sides would hardly get some rest before they clash for the next fixture at the same location. Adding to the misery, the venue for the final two T20Is, that are scheduled to be played in Florida, US, might also get changed as the players are yet to get their visas cleared.
Currently, Team India leads against the Caribbean nation by 1-0 thanks to their outstanding batting and precise bowling in the previous encounter in Trinidad. Dinesh Karthik (41* off 19 balls) added a flourish to Rohit Sharma’s solid start, which saw the latter record a half-century. The West Indies’ collapse for just 122 runs in response gave the Men in Blue a commanding 68-run victory.
Meanwhile, let us look at the hilarious reactions of the netizens on Twitter:

It's becoming increasingly embarassing for Cricket West Indies. I don't understand how they could not manage to transport the kits on time despite having 2 full days at their disposal #WIvIND #Cricket
