The inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup provided the perfect platform for the IPL to become the next big thing in cricket. After a spectacular opening in the world event, T20 franchise cricket took a giant leap as many cricketers from all over the world came to take part in the IPL. Since then, the level of cricket has risen exponentially. 

Over the years, the IPL has been providing the perfect platform for youngsters. The experienced ones blend with the youngsters to make a competitive atmosphere. IPL has been the tournament where every fan waits for the whole year. Franchise owners earn a hefty amount from this tournament. 

Adding on, the cricketers also earn whopping amounts from this tournament. With every passing day, the worth of proven performers increases substantially. 10. Shimron Hetmyer: ₹7.75 crores in IPL, ₹1.73 crores by WI board

Shimron Hetmyer is widely regarded as the next big thing in Windies cricket. He was the Under-19 World Cup-winning captain in 2016. Currently, he is signed under the West Indies cricket board as a limited-overs specialist. From the national board, he is being paid an annual salary of INR 1.73 crores. 

Hetmeyer has played 45 ODIs so far and with an average of 36.67, he maintains stability in the middle order. Talking about his T20I record, Hetmyer has played 29 matches so far. Although he has not proven himself as a solid middle-order batsman, Hetmyer has been a popular name in the IPL.

In the IPL, he is paid INR 7.75 crores. Currently, he is playing for the Delhi Capitals and has been a decent contributor. He has a terrific strike rate of 150.21 in the IPL. Well, the southpaw has justified his price tag in the IPL so far. If he continues to play as per his reputation, his value will cross the limits.
