The recent match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings saw another heartbreaking defeat for the three-times champion. CSK took on the field after a gap of six days and something good was expected from them. However, they again failed to capitalize on their plans. Batting first, the SRH posted a decent 164 on board, and it was achieved on the back on an amazing knock by young Priyam Garg (51* off 26).

In response, the opening order of CSK failed, and they stumbled terribly by losing their four wickets within the first ten overs. The duo of Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni was expected to get something good for the team, but their inning fell seven runs short ahead of the target.

Though Dhoni played a sublime knock of 47* runs, he ran out of breath and struggled while running between the wickets. He also got dehydrated and support staff was fetched in immediately to get him going.

Dhoni’s form in this season has already invited a lot of criticism from the world. In the same light, former Indian pacer Irfan Pathan took an indirect dig at MS Dhoni’s age. He wrote– “Age is just a number for some and others a reason to be dropped.”

This statement showed Pathan’s sentiments as he dropped from the team while he was just 27, and MSD continues to play even when he is touching 40. Replying to his comment, veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh also came out and showed his support to Pathan. Singh wrote– “1000000 per cent agree with you.”

Harbhajan Singh had pulled out of IPL 2020 owing to family commitments

The turbanator has also been running out of the team for almost five years now and his support to Pathan’s statement showed that he has also gone through the same pain. He also pulled out of IPL 2020 season owing to some family commitments.

The recent comments by cricketers point towards former India skipper, Dhoni, who has been failing to perform the required things for his team. CSK is also having a terrible season after losing their three straight matches in IPL 2020. The team, along with the skipper, needs to do some serious planning and preparations ahead of their next match against KL Rahul-led Kings XI Punjab.
