15-year-old Naseem Shah is in the news with his performance in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2018/19. The pacer was born on 15 February 2003 and has stunned one and all with a hostile spell in his second first-class game. Earlier, he made his first-class debut for Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited on 1 September 2018 against the Lahore Blues.

The pace bowler only managed to pick one scalp in that match. Later, Naseem Shah went on to play the U19 Asia Cup 2018 where he looked quite promising. But even in that tournament, he could only pick one wicket in the two games that he played. However, it was in his second first-class match against PTV where he made his mark and grabbed a lot of attention.

Naseem impresses one and all

In the second game, Shah picked six wickets in the innings and kept the opposition batsmen on their toes. He possessed a lot of variations up his sleeve and executed them to perfection. He can bowl both the inswingers as well as the outswingers which is one of his biggest strengths. Also, he bowled a few great bouncers which were aimed to perfection. In the process, he also hit the heads and wrists of some of the batsman. The youngster returned with figures of 6/59 in the match.

“Inswingers, outswingers, chin music, yorkers, sore hands, a sore head and great pace. In only his 2nd First-class match, teenage pace bowler Naseem Shah today took 6-59 for ZTBL against PTV #Cricket,” wrote Saj Sadiq in his tweet. Also, he shared a video of the pacer bowling in the match and it was a treat to watch.
