IPL 2023 Schedule
The sixteenth edition of the all-exciting Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to commence on March 31 as defending champions Gujarat Titans host four-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The brand-new season will see as many as 70 matches being played in the league stage, with the summit clash of the lucrative T20 league scheduled to be played on Sunday, May 28 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
After the action-packed mini-auction in December, teams will get down to serious business on the field from the beginning as all 10 teams will fight it out for the coveted title. The ten teams have been divided into two groups (A and B). MI, RR, KKR, DC, and LSG constitute Group A whereas CSK, PBKS, SRH, RCB, and GT are part of Group B. Each side will play 14 matches in the league phase, leading up to the 70 league games overall in the IPL 2023. In addition to the home venues of the ten franchises, 18 doubleheaders will be played across 12 venues, including Guwahati and Dharamshala.
While batters would look to add runs to their tally, they will also be on the lookout to get their hands on the IPL Orange Cap 2023. Last season, Jos Buttler claimed the cap after aggregating 863 runs for the Rajasthan Royals. Similarly, bowlers will look to bag the IPL Purple Cap 2023 in the forthcoming edition. Yuzvendra Chahal finished as the highest wicket-taker last year after having racked up 27 wickets in the league in 2022.
