Over the last few years, Siddhesh Lad has been a crucial player for Mumbai in the domestic circuit. In fact, he’s been in and around the Mumbai Indians (MI) side for the last few years as well. But he has been constantly warming the benches.

He was bought back by the franchise for his base price of INR 20 lakhs in 2018. However, it was only in 2019 that he got a chance to make his IPL debut. Lad played just one game where he scored 15 before he was dropped again. Despite being around the MI side for years now, Lad hasn’t been able to break into the XI.

With Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and the Pandya brothers forming the Indian batting core, it’s almost impossible for the 27-year-old to get enough chances and a consistent run. Thus, it may well be better for MI and also Lad that they part ways.
