The preparations for the Indian Premier League’s season 15 in 2022 have already begun and are in full swing. With the mega-auction to be held soon, the team management would be working on a tedious process to retain their core players who would be playing for their side in the future.

Delhi Capitals, after changing their name from Delhi Daredevils in 2018 have turned out to become a successful franchise since then. The team has not won a trophy yet in the 14 seasons. However, in recent editions of the IPL, they have been so close to lifting the trophy. This team usually relies on their youngsters much.

In 2020 under Shreyas Iyer, the team played its first final and finished the season as runner up and in 2021 under the captaincy of Rishab Pant, they secured the third spot. The team has a good set of youngsters and the management would lookout for some experienced players in the auction. However, they would look to build their team around the 4 players who would be retained.

Rishabh Pant is a talent who has been brought into the limelight by the Indian Premier League and soon he went on to represent the national side in all three formats. He is a left-handed wicket-keeping batter who can hit the ball out of the ropes ridiculously with his innovative shots. His career so far has been the epitome of IPL’s motto.

This 24-year-young player was bought by Delhi Daredevils in 2016 and has been their consistent player since then. In 2018, he was trusted by the management and retained. He fulfilled their trust by scoring 128* runs in 63 balls making then the highest individual score by an Indian cricketer in IPL history but later was broken by KL Rahul.

In 2021, he was handed over the responsibility of captaining the team. He was impressive in his maiden tenure as a captain and made the team finish in 3rd spot. The management believed him in 2018 itself when he wasn’t a big name in the fraternity. But now his growth has been immense and the team won’t leave this young talent in the auction pool.
