It’s hard to believe that now most of the countries have their own franchise-based T20 leagues. Recently, the Caribbean Premier League completed its journey and now the fans are eagerly waiting for the BBL saga. It has to be said that besides IPL, the most popular T20 tournament is the Big Bash League which has been hogging the limelight in the last 8 years. Now in a couple of months, the 9th edition of BBL will take on the center stage.

During the tournament, the cricketing fraternity will also gear up for the 13th IPL sell-off. Even some of the Australian cricketers will be keen to see their names embedded in the biggest T20 auction of the globe. There are a handful of stars who have been performing eminently in the Big Bash League. So now its time they should get their opportunities in the Indian Premier League.

Here is the list of 5 BBL talents who should get a chance in IPL 2020

1) Matthew Wade

For Australia, their 2019 Ashes glory will be remembered for the redemption of their modern-day maverick, Steve Smith. Amidst his heroics, another cricketer redeemed his international career and it is none other than Matthew Wade. The keeper-batsman played a crucial role by stroking two centuries in the series and in the process he continued his dream run with the bat.

Wade’s fortunes changed in the 2018-19 Sheffield season where he piled on more than 1000 runs and ended up as the second-highest run-getter of the tournament. Thereafter he took his game to the next level in the 2018-19 BBL. The southpaw accumulated close to 600 runs while opening the innings for Hobart Hurricanes. On top of that, his strike rate of 158 indicates that he smashed the bowlers to all parts of the ground.

The Tasmanian is in the form of his life and it will be surprising if he doesn’t attract a bid in the IPL 2020 auction. Particularly he can be a good addition to the Punjab team who lack experience in their batting order. Matthew can accompany KL Rahul at the top and his presence will help the team in getting rollicking starts. He can also be a solid middle-order option with his ability to play spin well.
