The Indian Premier League (IPL) will get underway on Saturday, September 19, with the highly anticipated clash between arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Abu Dhabi.

The pitches in UAE shall definitely offer a lot more help to the bowlers, especially spinners. Dot balls are very precious in a T20 game. Even a single dot ball can change the course of the game significantly more than it does in the other two formats of the sport.

It isn’t said without a reason that batsmen win you games, but bowlers win your tournaments. Even in the IPL, teams bowling dot-balls will have the maximum chance of going all the way.

In this article, let’s take a look at the bowlers who have bowled the highest number of dot balls in the IPL: –

1. Harbhajan Singh– 1249 dots

Harbhajan Singh has had an illustrious IPL career. He played for Mumbai Indians till 2017, before switching to arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings next year onwards. With 150 wickets in 160 matches, he has been a part of IPL winning teams four times, thrice for Mumbai (2013, 2015, 20117) and once for Chennai (2018).

Bhajji had a good season with the Men in Yellow last year, picking up 16 wickets in 11 games, at an economy of 7.09. He also bagged two Man of the Match awards against RCB and KXIP.

Singh pulled out of the IPL this year due to personal reasons. His absence would hurt CSK in terms of the experience he brought on board. However, CSK shouldn’t be that affected because they already have quite a few quality spinners like Imran Tahir, Piyush Chawla and Ravindra Jadeja.
