Indian Premier League (IPL) is like the perfect launch pad for the upcoming cricketers in the world. There have been many instances where players have performed ridiculously well in the IPL and that has taken them to the highest level of cricket.
The tournament has seen numerous players who have had the privilege of shining in the league and then getting to play international cricket. There are certainly many Indian players in the list. From the likes of Ravindra Jadeja to Hardik Pandya, all were first recognized through this cash-rich league.
The purpose of IPL was always to grind out Indian talents and ready them for the big stage. This has worked beautifully for some of the players as they have been able to translate that experience into the Indian cricket very well. Here are the five players who used IPL as a ladder to their way in the international team.
1. Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah has been phenomenal for India in the limited-overs cricket. He played for the Mumbai Indians even before making his debut in first-class cricket. Bumrah impressed everyone in Mumbai camp. His raw talent had found moulding hands and that proved to be vital for him as he went on to represent India.
He has been tremendous with his bowling. Jaspreet has a knack of bowling Yorkers at will and has an unusual action but makes up for it with his accuracy. He has now played 11 ODIs and 24 T20Is and has picked up 55 international wickets already. He is turning out to be a star for Team India.
