There is not much difference between the Indian Premier League (IPL) and International Cricket for Virat Kohli who smashes new records at both levels. He holds major batting records for India and RCB but often comes under scrutiny for his inability to lead them to tournament wins. Kohli has been a cult figure to the Bangalore franchise since his IPL debut as he represented the Royal Challengers Bangalore in all the 12 seasons. He is the only cricketer to have played every season for the same team and is also the most paid player of the league.

Here we look at 5 unknown records that are on the name of Virat Kohli in the IPL:

Virat Kohli became the full-time captain of the RCB team in the IPL from the 2013 season. But he led them during latter half of the 2012 edition when the then skipper Daniel Vettori went through injuries and poor bowling form. However, Kohli made his IPL captaincy debut a year before; during the 2011 season only.

Vettori was ruled out due to a knee injury which handed a new role for Kohli in the RCB team. The Virat Kohli-led RCB team took on the Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Kohli invited the home team to bat first who were limited to 146/6 in their 20 overs.

The Royals lacked acceleration after a 73-run opening stand in only 9.3 overs. Chris Gayle smashed an unbeaten 70 off 44 balls as RCB chased down the target in 17 overs for the loss of only one wicket. Virat was only 22 years and 187 days old during that match which made him the youngest captain of the IPL; a record which he still holds.
