While both cricket and politics can be physically exhaustive, the mental element involved in both these fields is much higher. The Narendra Modi-led party was always one or two steps ahead of the opposition throughout their campaign. They managed to target the weak zones of the rivals and have targetted the bastions to mentally hurt them. Thus, this has resulted in an unrecoverable blow. This target was achieved by using the right people at the right times in the right places.

When MS Dhoni was at the helm, we’ve often seen him doing this with his captaincy and the bowling changes. It is important for Virat Kohli also to take a leaf out of Modi and Dhoni’s book and try to stay ahead during a match. He needs to be immaculate and precise with his changes to the eleven and the bowling, fielding changes. The 30-year-old can’t afford to make changes that do not make much of a sense and must take the oppositions head-on by making the best use of the resources that he’s got. It is important to deliver a deadly blow depending upon the situation.
