This incident is surely one of the most selfish acts in the history of cricket. Australia is a team known to play their cricket hard and fair. However, their ethics stooped to an all-time low in a match against New Zealand. The Blackcaps needed 7 runs to win the match off the last ball.

Even though they had no chance of getting over the line, they could still draw it had they hit a six. Australian captain Greg Chappell pressed the panic button and asked his brother Trevor Chappell to roll the ball underarm. This ensured that the batsman couldn’t hit a six but was a disgraceful act. There wasn’t anything mentioned in the rulebook that bowling should only be done overarm. Thus, the umpires didn’t pose any objection.
