There is always a tussle whenever a new cricketing talent emerges out of India and Pakistan. If it is a batsman for India then it is a bowler for Pakistan and notably, both the countries have never faced shortage in their respective categories. Especially the Indian cricket has been home to some of the world-class batsmen. Currently the skipper, Virat Kohli is seated on the country’s batting throne.

The Delhi cricketer made his debut way back in 2008 and since then he has been batting as if his life depends on it. He has accumulated more than 20,000 international runs including 68 centuries. During all this time many batsmen from the neighboring country have carried their batting hopes. Among them, a select few stars have been compared with Kohli when they were on top of their game.

Here is the list of 5 Pakistan batsmen who got compared to Virat Kohli when they were in their prime :

Ahmed Shehzad is the only Pakistan cricketer to smack a century in all 3 formats of the game. It means the right-hander has the versatility to succeed in different conditions. He may not play the switch hits or scoop shots but he has a well-rounded game. His attractive stroke-play made him a sensation in the initial years of his international career.

Shehzad was hogging the limelight from across the world and the country even termed him the batting mainstay for the next decade. Slowly the fans started comparing him with the Indian batting gem, Virat Kohli. With his talent, he would have given Virat a run for his money but his reckless mistakes cost him dearly.

His fitness and his behavioral issues contributed to his downfall. Since then he is working hard in the domestic circuit to get back into the national set-up. Even now when he posts his gym sessions on his social media accounts people slam him for imitating Kohli. Still, it has to be said that his beard looks have an uncanny resemblance with the current Indian skipper.
