The T20I series between New Zealand and England took place along with other high-profile series in the shortest formats. Australia competed against Pakistan and Sri Lanka that resulted in lopsided series wins for Aaron Finch’s men. India and Bangladesh locked horns against each other which ensued a series win for the former after a degree of competitiveness from Bangladesh.

However, the series between the Kiwis and the Brits turned out to be the most riveting one. Given their recent history, it hardly came as a surprise that the limited-overs leg was going to grab plenty of attention. The series had everything that was needed to make it an exciting one. It had a high-scoring game, a healthy run-chase, two successful run-defenses, and finally a Super Over to wrap up an exciting series.

There exists a handful of players who may have put their hands up at the correct time. It is the season of T20 leagues in which the Indian Premier League (IPL) will hold an auction for some of the high-profile cricketers in the world. The performances of the players in this cut-throat series in New Zealand may have caught the eyes of the franchise owners.

We take a look at five players from NZ-ENG T20 series who can attract some significant bids in the IPL 2020 auction:

James Vince’s career in white-ball cricket suffered a body blow after he was not able to notch even one big score in the World Cup out of his limited opportunities. With the regular white-ball picks rested, it was his best opportunity to keep himself in the reckoning for the T20 World Cup next year in Australia.

He showcased his mettle straight away in the first game at Christchurch. After the loss of Dawid Malan, the 28-year old anchored the chase of 154 at number three, sharing solid partnerships with Jonny Bairstow and Eoin Morgan. He lost his wicket for 59, having carried the tourists till the doorstep of victory.

The Hampshire batsman played shots that exuded both power and class at best. Furthermore, his wide array of strokes and the courageous use of feet facing spin and pace makes him an exciting talent. A team like Kings XI Punjab in the IPL could make use of him since they have lacked a glue in the middle-order for long.
