The less flamboyant Bravo of the West Indies cricket, Darren has been one of the brightest aspects of the cricket in the islands in the recent past. He has been the rock of the West Indies batting line-up and has seen more wickets falling at the other end than anyone else in the present team.

In his last series, an away tour to Australia, he scored 247 runs including a hundred and a fifty each and was head and shoulders above his comrades. Before that, he had a decent tour of Sri Lanka where he recorded fifty plus scores twice in two Tests.

His weakness has been the inability to transform fifties into big scores mainly because of lack of support from the other end. Bravo has been the best West Indies batsman overseas, but his home average is surprisingly poor. The plus point is that he relishes batting in the longest format and he has been growing in confidence ever since his first Test hundred; it is just a matter of time before he breaks into the top tier of international batsmen.
