These players have enhanced the gentlemen's game and now it is to time celebrate the final moments of their glorious career.

The 12th edition of the World Cup saw many of the celebrated cricketers take the field for the final time. Most of these stars enjoyed a successful international career and their telling contributions helped the game grow. It was an emotional moment for the players and they made it a memorable one by ending their saga at the biggest stage.

On the other hand, certain individuals decided to continue their cricketing tourney. It will be impossible for them to play the next edition but their love for the game has not allowed them to walk away easily. Though they are some of the best cricketing talents age has caught up with them and they will be hanging their boots soon.

The charismatic Windies opener Chris Gayle is the only player in the current scenario to have made his international debut in the 20th century. For over two decades, Gayle has been entertaining the cricketing fraternity with his power game and dance moves on the field. He can be considered the pioneer of T20 cricket as his hitting skills brought the aura to the shorter format.

He is a cricketer who still can tear apart bowling attacks at his will. The southpaw is one of the few players who has amassed more than 10000 runs in both Tests and ODIs. Along with it, Gayle has also scored close to 13000 runs in franchise T20 cricket.

Gayle was supposed to retire at the end of 2019 World Cup but the Jamaican gave a last-minute surprise by changing his decision. He made himself available for the future West Indies ties. The Universe Boss will play the upcoming ODI series against the visiting Indian team and maybe a one-off Test match before bowing out in style.
