Ross Taylor has been absolutely phenomenal in the last 12 months. He has been in sublime touch and has been in fine form. He has notched up 966 runs at an average of 80.50 since the start of 2018 which includes six fifties and three hundreds. In fact, he has the third-highest average since the start of 2018 for a batsman who has amassed more than 200 runs in this period.

The way he has batted has been exceptional as he has often come in after a couple of early wickets and then taken the game through. His form has been the key to New Zealand’s success in the recent past. Since the start of 2017, he has registered 1937 runs at an average of almost 70 which includes 5 hundreds and 13 fifties.

He has played three World Cups and will want to use all his experience. New Zealand will be banking on him to control the game batting at No. 4.
