There’s absolutely no doubt that Rohit Sharma is one of the best opening batsmen in limited-overs cricket at the moment. He has the ability to notch up big scores and daddy hundreds and has been very consistent in white-ball cricket for the last few years.

Last year, he made 1030 runs at an average of 73.57, scoring five hundreds and three fifties. The Indian vice-captain has started this year on a very good too. He scored an excellent 133 against Australia at the SCG after India were reduced to 4/3. He was the Player of the Match in the second ODI against New Zealand.

The 31-year-old has been in sublime form and his consistency has been one of the reasons for India’s success in white-ball cricket. In 50-over ICC tournaments, Rohit averages 50.68 which shows he has delivered in big tournaments. He also has a very good record in England (687 runs at an average of 57.25). Hence, he is one player who can turn games around for India and end up as the player of the tournament.
