The Indian Premier League – IPL is a breeding ground and an opportunity for the players to perform and impress the crowd. There are a few players who instantly impress, and always have the hunger for more. Such players always win the hearts of fans, and the IPL franchises always want to have them in their squad.

Ultimately, they become an invaluable addition and a face to the team. They attract fans, both to the team and the tournament. Since its inception in 2008, many such players have emerged, most of them being Indians. On this note, let us take a look at 5 such players, who are the biggest assets to their teams and would never be released by their franchises.

1. Virat Kohli

It was only a coincidence, that helped Virat Kohli come into the RCB team. In 2008, Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) made the biggest IPL blunder by picking up Pradeep Sangwan over him through the draft system. The Bangalore-based franchise then picked up Virat, who has now become the face of the team.

The 30-year-old Indian captain has scored 5412 runs for the franchise across 12 seasons, making him the highest run-getter of all-time. Who can forget 2016, where he was in red-hot form, scoring 973 runs in the season where RCB reached the finals. He was handed over the captaincy in 2013, which he has continued to do till now.

RCB has never released him in 12 seasons, and won’t ever do so. The franchise has played a big role in his evolution, and Virat has been responsible for attracting fans towards the team. Though RCB is yet to win an IPL title, the fans need not lose their hopes, since Virat is still there.
