Son of Mumbai-based coach, Dinesh Lad, Siddhesh Lad has been a constant scorer for Mumbai in domestic cricket ever since he made his debut. In what was a forgettable Ranji Trophy season for Mumbai, Lad one of the few shining lights of their campaign.

The right-hander scored 652 runs in seven games at an average of 46.57. Lad has been with the Mumbai Indians set-up since 2015 but in the past four seasons, the right-hander has turned out in his franchise colors only once (in 2019).

With MI already boasting of the likes of Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard in the middle-order, it looks unlikely that Lad will be getting chances on a consistent basis within the Mumbai Indians set-up. If MI does go on and release Lad, the right-hander could come in as handy pick for teams like KXIP, who have perennially struggled with their middle-order.
