Nathu Singh may not be a popular name in Indian domestic cricketing circles anymore. But once upon a time, he was one of the big uncapped attractions in the IPL. The fast bowler from Rajasthan hit headlines in 2016 when he was bought by Mumbai Indians for a hefty sum of INR 3.2 crores.

Being the son of a laborer in a wire factory near Jaipur, Nathu’s ability to clock high speeds came into the limelight. He also trained under Glenn McGrath in the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai. Moreover, he had picked up 7/87 on first-class debut. During the time of the auction in 2016, Singh had a good T20 record as well where he took 21 wickets from 11 games.

However, despite getting a big pay-cheque, he Rajasthan pacer didn’t play a single game for MI. It was only a year later he made his IPL debut playing for Gujarat Lions (GL). He played just two games and hasn’t played another IPL game again.
