Hazratullah Zazai may have made his T20I debut in December 2016 but it was not until February earlier this year, the left-handed opener gained limelight. In Dehradun, against Ireland, he went berserk and showed what he was capable of. Zazai smoked 162 off a mere 62 balls to gain all the attention.

Since then, he has been in and around the Afghanistan white-ball sides. However, he didn’t have a great World Cup which may be one of the reasons for his exclusion from The Hundred. Moreover, with three overseas players, it would’ve been tough for the Afghan opener to break into any squad.

However, Zazai has a very good T20 record. In fact, he averages 52.22 in T20Is and has a strike-rate of 173.43. Hence, he could well gain quite a bit of attention from IPL franchises. Thus, he could be in for a good bid in the upcoming IPL auction for the 2020 season.
