From registering the best bowling figures for India in an ODI game to struggling for a spot in the side, Stuart Binny has had a really turbulent time. The all-rounder has faced many ups and downs in his career thus far. But he continues to fight the odds and has come up with an impressive performance recently. Ahead of the new domestic season, the Karnataka cricketer decided that he’d ply his trade for Nagaland this time.

Right on his debut, he made his mark and scored a brilliant hundred. In the game against Uttarakhand, Stuart Binny mustered 107 runs off 108 balls before his side was bowled out for 174 runs. The efforts from the other batsmen weren’t sufficient to keep the side in a commanding position. 15 runs by AN Longchar was the next highest score in the innings. This was a difficult target to defend and the opposition chased it down comfortably. Binny bowled 5 overs with the ball where he conceded a miserly 6 runs but couldn’t pick up any wickets.

Not an easy ride for Stuart Binny

The last few months have been extremely tough for Stuart Binny. The 35-year-old has had to battle with several injuries which have impacted his performances and place in the teams. After playing for Karnataka in a first-class game in November last year, he missed out on the action. He made his comeback only in the IPL 2019 back in April this year.

A few weeks ago, he also suffered a fracture that put him out of action yet again. But he has braved all these tough times and managed to make an impact which is quite commendable. After his debut game for Nagaland, Stuart Binny took it to Instagram to post a heartfelt message. He said that he is happy to contribute to Nagaland cricket and added that he didn’t feel this was possible a few weeks ago. Binny also shared the picture of his x-ray.

“When life sets you back, you push forward. Happy I could contribute to Nagaland cricket with a century on debut. A few weeks ago, I didn’t think this would be possible. Thanks to those who helped me with my recovery, looking forward to keeping the season going,” he wrote.
