Navdeep Saini and Gautam Gambhir have an emotional association with each other. It was the former Indian cricketer who turned Saini from nothing to India’s young bowling sensation. 26-year-old also never backed down from showing his regards to the former player. He made his debut against West Indies in the T20I series. He always praised the mentorship shown by the World Cup winner and when Gambhir turned 38 on 14th October, an emotional wish was always expected from the pacer.

Navdeep, who was once an ordinary bowler, used to play cricket to earn his pocket money. Back in 2013, he was a tennis ball player. Till then he might not have thought of playing for India but Gambhir saw a potential fast bowler in him who can play in the national team. As we know, the 38-year-old is known for his outspoken behavior in personal life as well as on social media.
The left-handed batter fought with Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) officials to ensure that he makes his spot in the Delhi squad. As per the rules, officials were reluctant to take the young fast bowler in the team because he was an outsider from Haryana. But keeping the position of Delhiite in mind, Saini was offered with the spot and the struggling days changed for Indian quick.
He went on to play back to back T20I series against West Indies and South Africa, although he is in his starting of his career yet he has been praised by the various cricketers for his amazing bowling skills and speed. With the Bangladesh T20I series on the way, Saini might get a chance in the series to prove his worth yet again.
On the 38th birthday, Navdeep Saini took to his Instagram handle and wished his dear mentor on his special day and wholeheartedly thanked Gambhir for the belief shown over him and wrote, “A Mentor Enables A Person To Achieve.
