As former Indian skipper MS Dhoni received the Padma Bhushan, he was showered with praise from all around. One particular thing that caught a lot of attention was MS Dhoni’s army uniform. Many were left awestruck seeing him march in his army uniform and VVS Laxman is no exception. MS Dhoni who is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian army dressed in his uniform to receive the award.

Dhoni was awarded the Padma Bhushan for his contribution in the field of cricket. He led his team to the title glories in ICC T20I WC, ICC 50-Over WC, and the ICC Champions Trophy. Also, he brought various other laurels to the country. Furthermore, Dhoni has also scored over 16,000 runs for India in international cricket.

Heartiest congratulations to MS Dhoni

Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman was absolutely proud of MSD’s achievement. Furthermore, he took it to Twitter to express his delight. He congratulated MS for the achievement and also termed it as ‘well deserved’. Laxman was also very impressed with MSD‘s army uniform. He said that it was absolutely wonderful to see the pride with which Mahi carried his army uniform.

‘It was absolutely wonderful to see the pride with which @msdhoni wore his Territorial army uniform while receiving the well deserved today. Exactly 7 years after we won the 2011 World Cup. Heartiest congratulations!’, VVS wrote. Incidentally, MS received the glory on the same day when India won the World Cup 2011. Laxman also shared the video of MS Dhoni receiving the award.

VVS Laxman had earlier played under MS for India in Tests. These two share some great memories together and are good friends. VVS Laxman was the part of the side that lifted the ICC Test Mace for No.1 ranking. He was also the part of the side that clean swept the mighty Aussies in India. He played a crucial role in that series and played some memorable knocks. Laxman retired from all forms of cricket in 2013. VVS is currently working as the mentor of the IPL side, Sunrisers Hyderabad.
