The cricketing world has been a witness to a number of cricketers emerging over the last few years, the likes of Steve Smith and Virat Kohli are two of them. The latter has been phenomenal recently in all the formats. Be it Test, ODI or T20I cricket, the Delhi-born cricketer has never flattered to deceive. Rather, he has turned out to be a massive headache for the opponents.
Recently, he became the fastest to 10,000 ODI runs against Windies, surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. He had a topsy-turvy run earlier in his Test career, but he has upped his game to a significant extent and is currently the number one ranked batsman in the most traditional format. The 30-year-old would next be seen in Indiaâs T20I series against Australia.

On the other hand, Smithâs numbers in international cricket arenât worth dismissing by any stretch of the imagination. The 29-year-old averages 41.84 in the ODI format, having scored 3431 runs in 108 matches. However, he has tasted a great amount of success in Test cricket and he boasts of a staggering average of 61.37 in 64 matches with 6199 runs under his belt.
Nevertheless, the ongoing year hasnât gone well for the New South Wales-born cricketer. Earlier in March, he was found guilty in the ball-tampering scandal and was later handed a one-year ban by Cricket Australia (CA). To add to his agony, he also lost his number one Test ranking to Kohli. In the meantime, Mujeeb Ur Rahman had to choose between Kohli and Smith.
In Instagramâs feature âAsk me a Questionâ, a supporter asked him to make a choice. The fan wrote, âVirat Kohli or Steve Smithâ. The Afghanistan spinner wasnât flustered by the question and he had no hesitation in naming Kohli as his favourite among the two. He replied and wrote, âVirat Kohliâ
