Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian skipper took the charge of BCCI chief on Wednesday. This news broke into media more than a week ago but today he officially took hold of the post in the supreme body. And it looks like the road ahead for him is laid down with some big roadblocks.

The first thing that is still needed to be updated is about the Bangladesh tour of India that looks in jeopardy which is scheduled to start from 3rd of November. But, Dada has given a new update over the matter when he addressed media for the first time after becoming BCCI President.

Sourav Ganguly positive about Bangladesh tour of India

Former skipper Ganguly addressed that they have invited Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the final Test which will be played at Eden Gardens and expects her and the team’s arrival to India, “The Bangladesh PM has said she will turn up for the Test in Kolkata. If she has given her consent, I don’t see how the national team won’t,” Sourav Ganguly said as quoted by New Indian Express.

The clouds of danger on the Bangladesh tour of India arose when their first-class players went on strike in order to get their demands fulfilled. One of the major aspects of their strike against Bangladesh Cricket Board was to get better remuneration for those who are competing at the first-class level. They have given a checklist of demands that the board needs to accept otherwise the players will not take the field in the upcoming days.

There is the latest update as BCB have accepted one major demand of the players and have gone back to the franchise model in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). However, there are reports that Virat Kohli can be given rest for the series against Bangladesh in the T20I series. He has taken the field in every match from the 2019 World Cup for Team India irrespective of the formats. This means that Rohit Sharma will lead the side against the Tigers in T20Is.
