Ever since the speculation became rife about a rift between India captain Virat Kohli and his deputy in limited-overs Rohit Sharma, it seems there is no end to the dark tunnel. While the cricket authorities in India have been trying their best to deny the reports, recent news that Rohit unfollowed Anushka Sharma, the wife of Kohli, on Instagram added more fuel to the fire. The actor also came up with a cryptic message to keep people guessing.

Amid the snowballing chaos, two Indian cricketers KL Rahul and Yuzvendra Chahal came up with some interesting moves. The duo recently started following the actor on Twitter after Rohit unfollowed her, making the drama more intense.

It is being alleged that Rahul plays in all the formats despite not doing too well in all of them because he has Kohli’s backing, Chahal plays under Kohli for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. It is also no secret that Rahul and Chahal have a rapport with Anushka and have also been seen addressing her as “bhabhi”. However, Chahal has been found on numerous occasions to be close with Rohit Sharma and his family as well.

The 31-year-old actor came up with a mysterious message, saying: “A wise man once said nothing. Only truth can shake hands with silence in a mess of false appearances,” after Rohit decided to unfollow her on Instagram. It was also rumoured that during the World Cup in England recently, Anushka and Ritika Sajdeh, the wife of Rohit, had kept a distance from each other.

Stories of a rift between Kohli and Rohit

These stories have found a firm impact after reports of a rift between Kohli and Rohit occupied public space. It has been alleged that the Indian team got divided between two groups – each loyal to Kohli and Rohit, respectively. It has been said that working style of Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri is not being appreciated by many members in the team and that Rohit also doesn’t get much of a share of the limelight despite being the vice-captain of the limited-overs sides.

There were even talks that the captaincy would be split for Tests and limited-overs with Kohli handling the red-ball version and Rohit for the white-ball versions. That theory though was buried as Kohli was picked as the captain of the entire tour of the West Indies starting August 3.
