Out of favour Pakistan batsman, Ahmed Shehzad had made a grand entry to international cricket. However, he could not hold on to the reputation of being the next big thing in Pakistani cricket for long. Soon after Pakistan’s dismal show in the ICC World Cup 2015, Shahzad found his form and charm dwindling. However, that did not bog him down and he continues to strive hard to retain a spot in the national setup.

Despite being away from international cricket for quite some time, Ahmad Shahzad always managed to stay in touch with his fans on the social media. He is one of the most active cricketers on the social media and posts regular updates. Recently, the batsman decided to have an interactive session with his fans under the hashtag of #AskAhmad.

A flurry of questions came his way but two those remain to be the standout ones. There are a lot of dynamic openers in world cricket at the moment. One of the fans was quick to ask who is Shahzad’s favorite limited overs batsman these days. Without a blink of an eye, Ahmad Shahzad was quick to answer. He picked the Australian opener David Warner to be the best limited-overs opener in world cricket at the moment. Safe to say, Shahzad made a very wise pick.

The question that remains to be the point of discussion is over the best spinner in world cricket at the moment. India’s Ravichandran Ashwin is the number one ranked Test bowler and was recently awarded the ICC Cricketer of the Year 2016. He has been the mainstay of Indian bowling and has been influential in India’s rise as a powerhouse at home. Pakistan’s leg-spinner Yasir Shah has also been a juggernaut in his own might.

The leggie has been picking wickets at will. No wonder why the question asked to Shahzad was to pick the best spinner in international cricket at the moment – Ashwin or Yasir Shah? Ahmad Shahzad chose the Indian off-spinner as his pick. He went on to justify his pick by saying Ashwin has ‘gone up a couple of notches’ and emphasised that Ashwin bats well too. He wrote, “@aCidic_bOy Ashwin has gone up a couple of notch n he bats very well 2.”
