Ajinkya Rahane is all set to start a new inning in his life as he and his wife Radhika are expecting their first child. The couple had a grand Maharashtrian wedding in Mumbai on 26th November 2014. Radhika is Rahane’s childhood sweetheart as their families shared the same neighbourhood when they were young. And the love story which started right in their childhood is now on the verge of another beautiful chapter as the couple is set to enter parenthood.

Rahane is currently busy playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he is representing Rajasthan Royals. The ongoing season has been a roller-coaster for India’s Test vice-captain. He was completely out of form in the first half of the season that saw him lose his captaincy after he led Royals to just two wins in 8 games. However, he has bounced back to form after being removed as captain. The right-handed batsman scored a sizzling ton against Delhi Capitals last week and has scored 34 and 39 in his previous two outings.

Things are now only going to get better for Rahane as according to reports, he and Radhika are expecting their first child. Reports in Pune Mirror state that the couple has been consulting a well-known doctor in Mulund and are ready to break the news anytime soon.

Ajinkya Rahane signs up for Hampshire

Meanwhile, Rahane is gearing up for yet another challenge as he braces up to become the first Indian cricketer to represent Hampshire in County Cricket. Rahane, who is not part of India’s World Cup squad, will replace Aiden Markram in the team. Rahane will play eight matches through May, June and the start of July.

Rahane is expected to join the Indian team when they travel to Caribbeans for two Tests right after the World Cup. It will be India’s opening series of World Test Championship.
