If there is one cricketer who can be called a complete team-man, then it has to be Suresh Raina. Whether it is batting, bowling or fielding, he gives his 100% on the field with a warm smile. In his prime, he shouldered the responsibilities of India’s middle-order in limited-overs cricket. And it is because of his dexterity to play spin-bowling.

His multi-dimensional skill set also helped him become an integral part of the country’s T20 side for a decade. Raina gathered over 1600 runs in his 78 outings. As it happens, he is also the first Indian batsman to crack a century in the shortest format of the game. So, it can be said that he has been a prominent figure of India’s T20 history.

It is no different when it comes to the IPL storyline. The southpaw has been one of the most consistent batsmen the tournament has ever seen. In 12 years, there have been 9 instances when Raina has scored more than 400 runs in a single season. Besides, he is also the first batsman to breach the 5000 mark in IPL.

All those records put him in a bracket of his own, but the real highlight of his IPL career is beyond numbers. His perseverance in the Yellow jersey has shaped the legacy of the Chennai Super Kings. He has turned games on its head just with his moments of brilliance on the field. In other words, he doesn’t even need a bat for winning games for CSK, and that’s unreal.
