Notably, Ganguly features in a cooking oil advertisement, which is said to be very good for consumers’ hearts. Thus, Kirti Azad targeted that company while wishing Ganguly. ‘Fortune Rice Bran Cooking Oil brand, promoted by Ganguly is manufactured by Adani Wilmar Ltd, owned by Indian billionaire Gautam Adani.

Adani has close allies with Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) while Kirti Azad is a member of the Indian National Congress along with his wife Poonam. Therefore, with his tweet, Kirti, who has played 7 Tests and 25 ODIs for India between 1980 and 1986, took a jibe at his political rival Adani Group.
