The presence of Anushka Sharma in the stands to cheer the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is like a norm these days. But the team and especially the skipper and her husband Virat Kohli must be missing her as she is in the United States of America for the shooting of her upcoming film ‘Zero’ alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Despite her busy schedule, she is making sure that she doesn’t miss the action in India and was super excited after RCB managed to cling on to a thriller in the last over.
Having been a must-win game, the best batsman in the line-up AB de Villiers rose to the occasion and played a special knock for his team. He was well supported by Moeen Ali and Colin de Grandhomme who propelled RCB’s total to 218 which looked absolutely impossible to chase at the halfway stage. But the Orange Army was up for the challenge and their captain Kane Williamson led from the front to take the game deep.
It went down to the wire in the end with the visitors needing 35 off the last couple of overs. However, it was the duo of Tim Southee and Mohammed Siraj who kept their nerves to clinch the thriller by 14 runs.
Super excited Anushka
The game ebbed and flowed throughout and it was no surprise that the fans were at the edge of their seats for the whole 20 overs during the chase. Anushka Sharma was witnessing the epic game from the USA amidst being busy and kept on cheering for her team in her Instagram stories. She posted 4 updates for her fans to know that she was following the game and supporting RCB and was delighted in the end that they kept themselves alive in the tournament.
The victory for Virat Kohli and his Men meant that the points table is still wide open and still the third and fourth spots are up for grabs in the points table.
