Anushka Sharma faces heat on Twitter as Virat Kohli fails in the first innings

Virat Kohli failed miserably scoring only 5 runs in the first innings of the ongoing Test match against South Africa at Newlands in Cape Town. This was his first outing after his much-awaited marriage with the Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. Both tied the knot at the scenic venue in Tuscany, Italy. The couple also threw a couple of receptions as the year ended with a lot of happenings in the personal lives of the Indian cricketers. However, as usual, Twitterati has blamed Anushka for Virat’s short stay at the crease and has trolled her.

India started the first Test match like a dream and bowled the hosts South Africa out on the first day itself on 286 runs. Everything was going well for the visitors until the pace attack of the home side wreaked havoc in the Indian camp. All the hopes after that were pinned on the skipper Virat Kohli to play a game-changing inning. But what transpired thereafter just broke the hearts of the fans. Kohli wafted at a harmless delivery and edged it to the keeper on 5 only to invite the criticism.

Trollers at it again

While it is fair that one should not be too critical of Virat Kohli after only a solitary failure in the first innings, it is more unfair on Anushka Sharma, his wife, who has time and again faced the heat on the social media. Twitterati has always blamed the Bollywood Diva for the non-performance of her cricketer beau. Accidentally she is more often than not present in the Stadium when her husband gets dismissed when the team needed him the most in the middle.

Wind back the memories to the semi-final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 when India were facing Australia to book the berth in the mega finals. The Men in Blue were chasing a hefty total and the team needed their most valuable player to step up on the night. But soon after Anushka was shown on the big screen, he was dismissed the next ball which started the trolls against her. Even Virat was livid and came out openly in the media to slash out the trollers.

This time again the same has happened and Twitterati actually waits for such things to happen as they have blamed the actress as the reason for Virat Kohli’s poor show.
