Anushka Sharma is in the limelight once again, not for something relating to her husband Virat Kohli but this time, for her movie Sui Dhaaga – Made in India. She plays the character of a lower-middle-class artisan. Anushka’s look in the movie, therefore, is very shabby and that has got really popular on social media to the extent that people are even creating memes on it. Anushka reportedly didn’t wear any makeup in the entire movie.

Anushka will portray a lower-middle-class wife’s domestic life in the movie – with hard earned money and labour being the main theme. At the launch of the movie’s trailer, she thanked the director for giving her the kind of role she had never portrayed before and also revealed that post-marriage, she gets even lesser time to spend with Virat when compared to the period before marriage.

“I started working when I was 15 and I am still working. I got married but I continued working. But the domestic nature which Sharat gave me, the feeling of getting married and being at home (I never got it before). After getting married, I don’t even get that much time to spend with my husband (Virat Kohli),” Anushka said while interacting with the media.

A challenging role

She was also asked how difficult was it for her to get into the character and then do justice to it on screen.

“I always wanted to challenge myself as an actor but this was differing with my personality on another level. So I was afraid and I told him I don’t think I can do this character. Maneesh (Sharma) and Sharat were extremely convinced that I am the right person to play this character. Sharat even visited my house and he told me how he sees the character and why he thinks I am actually the right fit,” Anushka said.

Anushka and Virat, dated for close to 5 years and tied the knot in a private ceremony in Italy’s Tuscany on December 11, 2017. The Indian captain, as of now, is in England, preparing for the third Test at Trent Bridge, which will also decide the fate of the series.
