Team India, ever since the end of the Lord’s Test, has been fretting over the fitness of their ace batsman and captain Virat Kohli. He hurt his lower back while playing in the second Test and didn’t come out to field on the fourth day as well. He looked in extreme discomfort while batting in the second innings also. There were doubts over his availability for the third Test against England. The visitors, however, will be delighted as Kohli seems to be 100 per cent fit for the game starting on Saturday.

The renowned sports journalist, Chetan Narula, who is currently in England covering the ongoing Test series revealed the news on his official Twitter handle. Virat Kohli was seen batting comfortably in the nets on Thursday and walked away with three bats in his hand which proves that the man on a mission is ready to face the opposition at Trent Bridge.

Can Team India make a comeback?

The Indian camp will be upbeat to see their captain bat with ease in the nets. But the main worry for the visitors is the form of the other batsmen who have looked incompetent to face quality swing bowling. The likes of Murali Vijay and Ajinkya Rahane who were the best batsmen on India’s last England tour are looking a pale shadow of themselves and for the team to make a comeback, they will have to fare well.

It seems that the things are slowly falling into place for them. Jasprit Bumrah is fit and raring to go after being sidelined for the first couple of Test matches. Also, Ravi Ashwin and Hardik Pandya have been declared fit after being hit on their bowling hand while batting in the second innings at Lord’s. Certainly, a better performance can be expected from them in Nottingham.

Somehow, the openers will have to blunt the new ball after which the middle-order can come into their own and trouble the hosts who have not been tested to the hilt so far.
