Arjun Tendulkar registers himself for the Mumbai T20 League auction

Everything that Sachin Tendulkar‘s son Arjun Tendulkar makes headlines. The all-rounder has been working hard on his game in the last few years and is taking rapid strides in his career. In the latest of developments, Arjun registered himself for the auction of the upcoming Mumbai T20 League season two.

The league is likely to get underway in the next few weeks, possibly after the completion of the IPL. Arjun has got the experience of playing in Mumbai’s U-14, U-16 and U-19 teams. He bats left-handed and backs a punch. Also, he is capable of swinging the ball either way at a good pace. The youngster also played for India U19 against Sri Lanka last year. In two matches, the southpaw picked up 3 wickets and could score just 14 runs in two innings including a duck.

An impressive run in the DY Patil T20 Cup

Tendulkar had quite an impressive run in the 15th Dr DY Patil T20 Cup in 2019. His impressive performances in the tournament resulted in him being picked for the Mumbai U-23 team. He represented the side in a domestic one-day competition last month.

The T20 Mumbai League was formed by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) in 2018. The tournament was quite successful in its maiden edition and it will be the second version of the league that will be played this year. A total of six teams participated in the tournament in 2018 in which the Triumph Knights Mumbai North East managed to clinch the title.

For his scintillating hitting and consistent performances, Shivam Dube was the ‘Player of the Series’ in the tournament last year. The Mumbai Cricket Association is planning to organise this league at a much larger scale this year. The dates of the tournament are yet to be announced.
