The Indian management has recently made plenty of changes to the combination, and the experiments have turned out to be somewhat fruitful. Many batters and bowlers have been given an opportunity to try their hand in the international games recently, and former India wicketkeeper-batter Saba Karim feels that Arshdeep Singh can make it to the T20 World Cup squad.

Arshdeep has been seen as a potential candidate to make it to the gala event. The young left-arm pacer is known for his accurate line and lengths, and his wicket-taking abilities. There have been times when he has gone wicketless in a match, but at the same time, he manages to keep his economy in check and does not concede many runs.

“I have high hopes from Arshdeep Singh because he adds so much of variety to the attack. Plus he’s kind of multidimensional in terms of the slots of overs that he can come in and bowl. Plus, he is learning each and every day and you need that kind of left armer in your attack who has got so much of variation. So yes, I think he’s pretty high on the picking order in terms of world cup selection,” Karim said on SPORTS18’s show ‘SPORTS OVER THE TOP’.

India’s tight schedule ahead of the World Cup

The Indian side is currently touring the West Indies, where they successfully won the ODI series by 3-0. The T20I series is currently underway, where three games have been played and India are leading the series by 2-1. The two teams are supposed to fly to Guyana and collect their visas in order to fly to Florida in the US for the remainder of the five-match T20I series.

The Men in Blue have a long international calendar ahead of them. They’ll be taking on Zimbabwe after finishing off with the West Indies series. They’re then scheduled to play the Asia Cup, another major event before going towards the World Cup. The Asia Cup squad selection will give some idea about India’s main members of the T20 World Cup squad.
