Hong Kong scared India out of the hell in the last night’s game as they were well and truly the favourites to chase down the total of 286. The opening duo of Anshuman Rath and Nizakat Khan batted with an amazing temperament and kept the team in the hunt. But once the record 174-run stand was broken, they crumbled and inexperience in their line-up showed. Nevertheless, it was only a 26-run victory for Team India and Hong Kong won the hearts of every cricket fan including the players themselves.

While the loss ended Hong Kong’s Asia Cup campaign, India will be playing their arch-rivals Pakistan on Thursday in an inconsequential game as they have made it to the Super Four stage now. But the way the Associate nation improved especially after losing their ODI status earlier this year was impressive and definitely, they deserved a pat on the back from their opposition to lift their spirits after a heartbreaking loss.

Team India visit Hong Kong dressing room

After the match, Team India cricketers showed a lovely gesture by visiting Hong Kong’s dressing room to congratulate them on their performance. They interacted with the players and shared some invaluable experience with them. They also clicked photos with them which was a fanboy moment for the budding cricketers.

Ehsan Khan was over the moon as he posed for a click with Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni, his two wickets on the day, as he went on to say that he waited for almost 10 years to meet his hero Dhoni. Even Bhuvneshwar Kumar spilt the beans on how to swing the ball to the likes Tanwir Afzal and Nadeem Ahmed who were listening carefully.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a video of the fun the players had together in the dressing room after the match and surely, it was a superb gesture from the Men in Blue on their part.
