For the second time in a week, India managed to outplay their neighbours Pakistan in the Asia Cup and this time, it was an even more authoritative show from the Men in Blue. Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag was in awe of the way the current Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma performed and took to Twitter to express his elation.

Just the way it happened in the group stage game, where Rohit and Dhawan gave a bright start to the side, they once again added a humongous stand for the opening wicket. Chasing a below par 238-run target, both registered centuries and India romped their way to the victory by 9 wickets.

Sehwag said that it was wonderful to watch such a dominating performance from the Indian side and specially complimented the effort of Rohit and Dhawan. “Bharat! Congratulations on a wonderful victory. Dhawan and Rohit were terrific and this is so wonderful to watch,” he said via his official Twitter handle.

Another comprehensive win for India

After kick-starting the campaign on a mediocre note against Hong Kong, Rohit Sharma’s troops have bounced back big time. They first annihilated Pakistan in the group stage encounter, followed by another emphatic performance in the opening Super Four game against Bangladesh.

Unfortunately for the Pakistanis, who just about got over the line against Afghanistan the other day, had no competition to offer to their arch-rivals. Shoaib Malik and Sarfraz Ahmed’s partnership in the middle overs was the only period when they looked competent and barring that, the Indian side had the upper hand all the way through.

India have confirmed their place in the final and for Pakistan to do, they have no other choice but to defeat Bangladesh. That game will not be easy going for them considering how well the Tigers have performed in recent times. But for Pakistan to not enter the final and set up another clash with India will come in as a huge surprise.
