Asia Cup 2025 Schedule
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced the schedule of the Asia Cup 2023 which will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Pakistan will cross swords with Nepal as they will kickstart the proceedings of the ACC event at the Multan International Cricket Stadium on August 30.
Pakistan, India, and Nepal form Group A whereas, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka are part of Group B. The six teams will contest in the group stage from August 30 to September 5 after which the top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Fours.
The Super Fours will be played from September 6 as each of the four teams will play every other side in a round-robin fashion in order to progress to the summit clash. The final of the event will be played on September 17 at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Team India will begin their campaign with their first match against arch-rivals Pakistan, slated to be played on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Going by the Asia Cup All-time Stats, team India are the most successful side with seven titles (six ODI’s, one T20I) followed by Sri Lanka winning it on six occasions.
Sri Lanka are the defending champions as they won it in 2022 which was a 20-over format. The upcoming edition will be a 50-over event, keeping in mind the 2023 ODI World Cup, scheduled to be played in India in October-November.
