Ola! CricTracker welcomes you to the IPL 2026 Mini-Auction
The alarm bells are ringing as the IPL 2026 mini-auction is right around the corner, and CricTracker is here to bring the fans with each and every update from this D-Day. This time round, we're at the Etihad Arena, Abu Dhabi for the cash-rich event, which will get underway on Tuesday, December 16 at 2:30 PM (Indian Standard Time).
This is the third time that the auction is being held outside India, and this time round, a total of 350 players have been shortlisted, with 240 Indians and 110 overseas players forming part of the final list of the names that will go under the hammer. However, only 77 players in total and at max 31 overseas players will get picked, adding excitement to the marquee event.
For the unversed, IPL allows each of the ten participating franchises to have a maximum of 25 players to their squad for a season, with the overseas players' number not exceeding eight. Each team will be entering the auction with their respective purse to splurge at the event and adding the desired names to their kitty.
Players will go under the hammer through different sets, with the first set consisting of Marquee Players. This list includes top draws like Cameron Green, Wanindu Hasaranga, David Miller, Jonny Bairstow, and Steven Smith. Indians in the marquee set of players include Ravi Bishnoi and Venkatesh Iyer, both of whom were released by their respective sides.
Brace yourselves, and follow CricTracker on this space for all the live updates from the D-Day.
