After a gap of almost two years, the time has finally come for us to witness two of the biggest rivals in world cricket up against each other in the longest format of the game. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, India and Australia are ready to go! It hardly gets more exciting for us, as crazy cricket-fans. The Tests are scheduled to start on December 6. People are already way too excited and are waiting patiently for the action between the two giants of the game to begin.

In this Test series though – unlike others that were played Down Under in the past – experts give India a bigger chance of coming out victorious, given the fact that Australia will be playing without arguably the two of their best batsmen. That being said, the series is still expected to be well-contested and batsmen, as usual, are expected to have a bigger say. Here we bring you the list of 5 batsmen, who can end up scoring the most runs in the 4-match series.

The Indian captain was always going to make our list. He doesn’t know what playing at home or overseas is. He comes out, owns the bowlers and leaves with a raised bat in every other match now. In fact, people are surprised when Kohli doesn’t score at least a half-century. Enough of the praises, let’s now study his numbers and understand why former England captain, Michael Vaughan, called him the “G.O.A.T.” on Twitter.

Virat’s overall average in Test cricket is 54.58 in 124 innings, and his overall average against Australia is a shade over 50. Now towards the interesting part, the 30-year-old averages an outrageous 62 on Australian grounds, and very few can forget his knock when India last played a test match in Adelaide, Australia. Yet again, he is expected to play a crucial role in the upcoming series as well.
