The ongoing day-night Test between Australia and India is nicely poised at the moment with the visitors bowling superbly. After getting bowled out early on the second day for 244, India have managed to pull things back nicely thanks to their bowling attack. If Jasprit Bumrah and Umesh Yadav kept it tight with the new ball, Mohammed Shami and Ravi Ashwin have done well. And Virat Kohli’s sensational catch just proved to be the icing on the cake.

The Indian skipper’s heroics were witnessed in the 41st over of Australia’s innings when Ravi Ashwin was bowling. The debutant Cameron Green was batting and the hosts were desperately in need of a partnership with Marnus Labuschagne batting well at the other end.

Ashwin, the off-spinner, was bowling well but this time around, he delivered a short ball only to lit up the eyes of Green. He rocked back to play a fierce pull shot through mid-wicket. But little did he know that the India captain Virat Kohli would pull out a blinder to cut short his innings. The 32-year-old timed his jump perfectly to pluck the ball out of thin air and greeted the crowd by taking his cap off.

It was a huge moment in the game again as Australia were just trying to recover after losing four wickets earlier. But the catch from Virat Kohli pulled things back in India’s favour yet again.

Ravi Ashwin – The Surprise Package

As far as India’s bowling is concerned, it has been hands down excellent. Umesh Yadav has disappointed a bit but he has kept it tight not giving away easy runs. Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah were expected to do well and they have just doing their job perfectly yet again. But Ravi Ashwin has been a revelation so far with the ball.

He came into the attack when Steve Smith and Labuschagne were building a partnership slowly. However, he soon sent back Australia’s talismanic batsman and then plucked Travis Head as well. Cameron Green was his third scalp and is looking extremely good to pick more wickets.
