Perth Scorchers climbed on to the 2nd place in the points table after defeating the Brisbane Heat by 59 runs at the Docklands Stadium. Colin Munro led the charge of the Scorchers with a 54-ball 82 which included five fours and four maximums. Munro’s knock played a key role in getting the Scorchers to finish with 174/5. The Brisbane team got starts from their top-order as they scored 46 runs in the first five overs and moved to 96/3 by the 12th over. However, the Brisbane team lost their remaining seven wickets for 19 runs in less than five overs.

Scorchers’ hat-trick against Brisbane:

3 – Perth Scorchers now have won each of their last three matches in the BBL against the Brisbane Heat. This streak of Scorchers began after losing three straight games against the Brisbane team. Overall, the Scorchers have won 8 of their 14 meetings against the Brisbane franchise in the league.


Contrasting records at the Docklands:

5-1 – Perth Scorchers now have won five of the six matches they played in the BBL at Melbourne’s Docklands Stadium. Scorchers won each of their first four matches at this venue while chasing a target before failing to defend a total in the 2018-19 season against the Renegades.

Their previous appearance at the venue in the 2018-19 season against Renegades resulted in a 4-wicket defeat after winning each of their first four matches here.

5 – Brisbane Heat now has lost each of their last five matches in the BBL at the Docklands Stadium since beating Renegades in the 2012-13 season by 15 runs. Overall, the Brisbane franchise has won only two of the eight matches they played at this venue.


Munro’s big knock:

82 – Colin Munro’s 82-run knock is now the 2nd highest individual score for the Perth Scorchers in the BBL against the Brisbane Heat. The highest is 93* by Mitchell Marsh during the 2019-20 season at the Optus Stadium in Perth.


Lynn’s record against Scorchers:

511 – Chris Lynn became the first player to score 500+ runs in the Big Bash League against the Perth Scorchers during SCO vs HEA game. He has scored 511 runs from 13 innings against the Scorchers at an average of 51.1 with help of five fifties.

Lynn became the first player to score 500+ runs in the BBL against two different opponents. Lynn scored 566 runs against Sydney Thunder which are the most by any player against an opponent in the BBL. Glenn Maxwell (vs Sixers), Aaron Finch (vs Stars) and D’Arcy Short (vs Strikers) are the other players with 500+ runs against an opponent in the league.

  


A big season for Richardson:

21 – Jhye Richardson has claimed 21 wickets across 11 matches in the ongoing BBL edition which makes him the first player to bag 20+ wickets in a BBL season for the Perth Scorchers. Richardson is now one of the seven players with more than 20 wickets in a BBL edition.


Lynn’s poor run as captain:

24 – Chris Lynn now has 24 outright defeats in the Big Bash League as captain which are now the 2nd most for any skipper in the league. Aaron Finch leads the list with as many as 37 defeats while Moises Henriques is now down to No.3 with 24 losses.
